Google Serious on Social Media Business
Google plans to increase its social media business development efforts to be able to compete with major competitors, including Facebook and Twitter.
This is presumably because the visit on the social networking site’s most popular and largest in the world today, namely Facebook, has exceeded the visit of the search engine giant Mountain View, California.
The networking agencies Experian Hitwise analyst mentions that the number of Facebook visitors is far more than Google visitors until March 13, 2010.
This is not Google’s first attempt. Previously, the firm established since 1998 has been launched two social media products, namely Buzz and Orkut. However, the results are unsatisfactory. Facebook with Twitter become two great leaders of the moment.
Liz Gannes of GigaOm has chatted with one of the associated Google executives to strengthen in the realm of social networking. “Google know that they are late to develop social media, and they admit that,” said Liz said as quoted from the page of CNN.
In the view of Google, conceptually, there are two ways to overcome them. First, build something innovative and new social networking environment. Second, develop their social media capabilities and integrate them into existing business portfolio.
